What Are CSGO Stickers?
The first question if you’re new to CS:GO stickers is- what are they? Well, CS:GO stickers are in-game items that players can collect and add to a weapon skin. Players can add a maximum of four CSGO stickers to one CSGO weapon skin unless it’s an R8 Revolver or G3SG1 – both of which can have five.
However, all stickers are different, and like CSGO skins, all have a different quality, rarity and appearance, with high grade and lower grade stickers. If you decide to place one of your stickers on a weapon skin, then the sticker will be permanently removed from your inventory and placed onto that weapon skin. That means that if a player then decides to trade the weapon, the sticker will go with it. However, some stickers will increase the value of the skin and others may decrease the value of the weapon skins.
Visually, the CS:GO stickers can have team logos and event logos. However, you can also get the chance to design and create your own stickers, but they will then have to be voted in the game in order to be used.
Getting a CS:GO Sticker
Obviously, different rarities and details of skin can make them easier or harder to get hold of. However, here are the main ways to get hold of CS:GO stickers:
- The most common way, and easiest way in CS:GO to get hold of stickers is by opening a sticker capsule. These sticker capsules can drop at the end of a CS:GO match and usually contain regular and community stickers – usually with a lower market price.
- Another way to get stickers is by buying them at the steam market or a CSGO trading site. Should you opt for this system of buying stickers then you will need a capsule key to unlock it.
- Another popular way to get them is by trading with other players on the Steam market. You can trade stickers, skins, weapons and other CS:GO goodies.
- Players can use coupons and coupon codes to buy stickers from an in-game store.
- Players can also claim souvenir stickers found on souvenir weapons that cannot be removed from the skins or weapons.
- Finally, players can buy tournament CS:GO stickers in the shop, without the need for a capsule key.
Placing a Sticker on a Weapon
This is a very simple procedure. You simply head into your CSGO inventory, pick the sticker and click on it. Then choose the weapon you want to place it on. You will have four different options of where to place the sticker, so pick where you want to place it and the sticker will then be placed on the weapon – permanently.

The Different Rarities
Every type of sticker has a different rarity level:
Blue – High grade
Purple – Remarkable / Holo
Pink – Exotic / Foil
Gold – Souvenir Foil OR Contraband

However, the sticker doesn’t have a quality level – it takes on the quality level of the weapon or gun it is attached to. Unlike certain skins, stickers in CS:GO don’t get downgraded. The only thing you can do is change the sticker appearance to ‘scraped’ which will make it look more vintage. You can’t do this too often though because otherwise, it will eventually remove the sticker.
Don’t be fooled into thinking a sticker increases the value of a weapon though, as this is, in fact, usually the opposite and a sticker can actually devalue it. However, a rare sticker can increase the value. You can scrape a sticker off though if you want to increase the value of the skin to what it was previously.
The Different Styles
As well as different colours and rarities of stickers, there are also different sticker styles as well. Most are ‘normal’ but there are also foil or holo sticker variants.
Standard Glossy Stickers: The standard sticker, shiny, has no backing and can be scraped off
Paper-backed Glossy: Same as above but with a paper backing.
Holographic (Holo Rarity): Has extra texture layers giving it a better holographic look.
Color Replace Pattern: Come in four different colours.
Graffiti Tags: As above
Embossed foil/metal leaf: (Foil rarity) Metallic foil outline / Gold outline
The Most Expensive CS:GO Sticker
As it stands, the most expensive CS:GO stickers in the world right now are the Titan Holo Katowice 2014 worth $6630 and the IBUYPOWER Holo Katowice 2014 sticker worth $5585. The reason the price goes so high is basically a supply and demand issue. These ones were very rare and the demand was high- hence the high prices.

How to Get Stickers in CSGO?
There are a few ways to get them. You can either wait for a capsule drop after a CSGO match, buy a capsule at the Steam Market when logged into your steam account or trade with other players. There are also in-game stores that sell stickers or you can get souvenir stickers on souvenir weapons.
How to Test Stickers CSGO?
First, you need your own sticker (.vmt file) and also the (.vtf file) for the textures. Buy a cheap skin (like P250). Buy a cheap sticker (basic). Apply the sticker to your gun where you think it looks good. Now close the game (IMPORTANT!). Go to the file: Computer>HDD(D:)>Steam>steamapps>common>Counter-Strike Global Offensive>csgo>scripts>items and copy the file to make a backup. Open the original file and leave the backup. Search for ‘Sticker_Kits’ to find the list of stickers, then search for the sticker you bought. Change the sticker material to the name of your .vmt file and save your changes. Create a new folder named weapons and inside this folder create a sub-folder called customisations. Inside this sub-folder, create another folder called stickers. Drag the sticker and texture in here. Open your vmt file with VTFEdit then put this path and the name of your vtf file in the end (but don’t add vtf in the end). Add insecure in launch options. Now start the game. If you have followed the steps correctly – remember to use the chosen gun in-game when testing. Then play offline with bots to test your sticker. When this is done, remove the insecure file and replace the backup.
How to Remove Them?
To remove a sticker, left-click on the weapon in your CSGO inventory that has the sticker you want to remove. Select ‘scrape sticker’ and click on the sticker you wish to remove.
How to Search for Guns with Stickers?
Firstly search the market to find the weapon you are looking for. Click on your weapon and head over to where you can buy it. If you scroll down you’ll see http://i.gyazo.com/efe69e2f54163ddfa851ef3362f29bda.png and in that box type ‘Sticker Exterior’. If you’re looking for a specific sticker then replace the word ‘sticker’ with the name of the sticker – e.g. ‘Howling Dawn Exterior’.

How Much Do Guns with Stickers Sell For?
Unless it’s a very rare or sought after sticker, then the gun will sell at its standard price. In some cases, adding a sticker can decrease the value of a gun or weapon.
