CSGO – Operation Shattered Web
Throughout the years, despite the fact that all of the characters have been upgraded visually in the game, since the launch of CSGO, they have all still been the same models. However, this has changed since the launch of Operation Shadow Web, which introduces unique new characters to both the terrorist and counter-terrorist sides, and is now continued with Operation Shattered Web. These characters have been branded as the Agents, who will be rolled out gradually as rewards for mission progress. So, basically, these are simply new rewards, just like skins, that will only be unlocked as you continue playing. There are 22 of these new characters in total.
These new Agents, just like the players, are classified into different tiers and levels – with the highest tier being the Master Agent. This tier includes Special Agent Ava of the FBI and Lt. Commander Ricksaw. These special new characters have all been given their own animations and voices.
However, these new agents haven’t been introduced to replace the older characters. In the same way that CSGO weapon skins can be equipped from your Steam inventory, you can choose the unlocked agents on either the terrorist or counter-terrorist side.
As is traditional with the game, this new Shattered Web Operation also means new skins and weapons collections that are associated with it. Examples of these skins and collections included in the operation are the Shattered Web Knives, Norse, St Marc and Canals. These are the web graffiti and web CSGO stickers that you can receive only during this particular Operation.
The game has also introduced new maps, which include Lunacy, Jungle and Studio. These will now be available to play in all the regular matchmaking CSGO games.
These updates are pretty exciting for many – and you can purchase Operation Shattered Web which currently costs $15. It will go on for 16 weeks, and there will be new missions that are unlocked every week as it progresses. If you are interested in finding out more, then you will be able to find out more about it on Valve’s microsite of Operation Shattered Web!
